are returned as undeliverable each year. CorrectAddress® cleans up
misspelled addresses and assigns appropriate city names and ZIP+4 codes
to ensure
proper delivery. CorrectAddress® performs address validation and address
correction.
Enhanced postal address information
In addition to address validation and address correction, CorrectAddress® provides
additional postal information about processed addresses. This includes carrier
route
numbers,
enhanced
line of
travel (eLOT) numbers, county information, firm names, urbanization
names, delivery point codes and geocodes (latitude and longitude coordinates)
Postal discount rates
When an ambiguous mail piece is received by the
Postal Service, its employees must expend time and effort to correct it and send
it
to its proper distribution point. CorrectAddress®, a CASS-certified,
address validation product, eliminates the need for that correction,
allowing the pieces to be delivered
quicker and more efficiently. CorrectAddress® users are eligible for
considerable bulk mailing discounts from the USPS. The software
generates a copy of
the Postal Form PS3553 that is required as part of the documentation
in any request
for

Delivery Point Validation
In addition to being certified for standard ZIP+4® processing, CorrectAddress
v7.0 supports Delivery Point Validation (DPV™). DPV takes the verification
process one step further and authenticates the address as an actual delivery
point. With DPV checking enabled, CorrectAddress is capable of confirming over
145 million physical mail delivery points throughout the United States and its
territories. The DPV component will also determine if the address belongs to
a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA) and provide other useful information
to indicate match quality.
